Heathside School has been signed up as the first ‘Heath Friendly School’ by Hampstead Heath charity, Heath Hands.
As a Heath Friendly School, Heathside is committed to help protect and conserve Hampstead Heath, and ensures pupils will link up with Heath Hands to take part in worthwhile nature related projects, building lasting positive connections to our precious green spaces.
Formed in 1999, Heath Hands helps conserve 350 hectares of unique green spaces including Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood, Keats House and the Kenwood Estate delivering a wide range of volunteering, community, education and outdoor nature related programmes.
Headteacher Katherine Vintiner is delighted and proud that Heathside is the first Heath Friendly School. “We have a long and close connection with Hampstead Heath and, through being a Heath Friendly School, we can help play our part in protecting and conserving this precious place.”
